Spanish Ambassador Visits Serbian National Theatre

Dragana Milošević, Acting Director of the Serbian National Theatre, met today with the Ambassador of Spain to Serbia, Juan José Sanz Aparicio. Milošević and Aparicio discussed the results of the cooperation so far and the possibilities of its expansion and intensification. It was emphasized that the soloists of the National Ballet of Madrid, Laura Pérez Hierro and Juan José Carazo Arans, very successfully presented themselves to the Novi Sad audience in the famous ballet „The Nutcracker“ by P.I. Tchaikovsky, under the baton of Maestro James Tagle. Following the successful cooperation of Spanish artists with the SNT Ballet, today’s meeting discussed the possibilities of realizing co-productions in drama and opera. – The Serbian National Theatre is open to cooperation with theaters from Spain, it will be our great pleasure to present Serbian culture in Spain, as well as to be a place where the Serbian audience will meet Spanish artists – said Acting Director Dragana Milošević. Ambassador Aparicio emphasized that the Embassy of Spain has good cooperation with cultural institutions in Novi Sad. – For us, cooperation with the Serbian National Theatre is a step forward. In the year ahead, Serbia and Spain will celebrate 110 years of diplomatic relations and we are pleased that the ceremonial celebration of this important anniversary will also be realized in Novi Sad – said Ambassador Aparicio. The meeting was attended by Deputy Director Nebojša Savić, Director of the Opera Željko R. Andrić and Dario Otero, Cultural Attaché of the Spanish Embassy.
