“Gospa Nola” premieres on October 1st at the Serbian National Theatre

The first drama premiere at the Serbian National Theatre, in the new 165th season, Gospa Nola by Isidora Sekulić, directed by Sonja Petrović, is scheduled for October 1.

“The text itself has been bothering me for a long time and I have been thinking about it for a long time. I did read it in high school when I first read it, but only later did I start reading more of Isidora Sekulić’s entire oeuvre. That’s when I started to become more interested in her as a writer, both in the way she wrote, and in her biography and her life in relation to her works. Gospa Nola came to me at a time when I was starting to focus on women who break stereotypes and prejudices, and I think it is important that a story about a woman like Gospa Nola is being seen on stage today,” said director Sonja Petrović.

In addition to director Sonja Petrović, the members of the author’s team are: playwright Aleksandra Jovanović, set designer Marija Kalabić, costume designer Irina Somborac Oke, composer Nenad Kojić, choreographer and stage movement Jovana Rakić, stage speech Đorđe Marković, lighting design Mia Mlinarević, assistant director Nikola Novak and assistant set designer Mladen Stojanović.

The play stars: Bojana Milanović, Marija Čutura, Gordana Đurđević Dimić, Nenad Pećinar, Anđela Pećinar, Ivana Pančić Dobrodolac, Ljubiša Milišić, Peđa Marjanović, Dimitrije Aranđelović, Stefan Vukić, Milan Kovačević, Dušan Vukašinović, Mia Simonović Aranđelović, Sonja Kesler, Katarina Bradonjić, Iskra Šimon, Zoja Pećinar, Lav Vukašinović and Nikola Tubić.

The premiere of Gospa Nola by Isidora Sekulić, directed by Sonja Petrović, opens the new drama season on October 1 at 7:30 PM on the „Pera Dobrinović“ stage, while the first rerun in the repertoire is the next day, October 2.
