Besides the operas L'elisir d'amore (The Elixir of Love) and Don Pasquale, Lucia di Lammermoor is probably one of the most famous pieces by G. Donizetti, but it is also one of the best operas in the extensive opus of this famous Italian composer. Besides its luxurious arias, duets, trios and spectacular choir scenes, the opera has earned its popularity with an extremely demanding and, in operatic literature, unique coloratura part of the main role of Lucia. This role is certainly a challenge for all coloratura sopranos, and the latest Serbian National Theatre production of Lucia di Lammermoor has confirmed the quality of our soprano soloist ensemble. |
