There is not much left of Moliere in the Serbian National Theatre production, and the element our time added to the drama speaks in the language of sales and acquiring, dough and cruel, unconcealed games. It is no longer a comedy in which the "words with wings" cloud the "true essence". Petrovic took Moliere's words and transferred them to our time - its brutality, ordinaries, strategies and tactics. As if the director is saying: There is no philosophy here! And he hits the bull’s eye. Right in the centre! It's high time the quintessence - which has been hidden below the cloudy literary words, came out to be given its due. The devil always does get his.
